My Sayings

The man on whom...

The man on whom fortune smiles regularly must think more of ordered Intelligence and teleological Providence than of whimsical fate and happen-chance. His lot is blessing, not luck. He must however not lose the wise humility that flows from knowing that blessing is what it is: a gift, not an achievement.

By what vision...

By what vision shall we penetrate the being that is woman? In what terms can we express the motion of her existence? How shall we understand the heart of the woman? By what words can we capture the passion of that heart? What took God an extra thought to undertake must be deeply mysterious indeed or then amazingly simple. The apprehension of such depths of simplicity must then be the beginning of wo-man-ly wisdom.

My Poems

A PIECE OF ME

1

When I look back at the journey of this life

When I recall the paths we’ve traversed

When I think of how we got this far

When I feel this me

Of how it became this me

2

I see the vital role played by every one of you

I feel the vital pieces of many hues

I feel a piece of you in me

I feel a piece of him in me

I feel a piece of her in me

3

And the piece of you in me

Recalls a piece of me for you

And so for him and so for her
